Brunette to Bald

Yes, that’s right, I’m actually balding. The stress of buying a house, trying to figure out what to do with a car that’s dying a sure death, and the loss of pregnancy hormones are a lethal combination for my hair. It is literally coming out by the handfuls in the shower. It’s been very humbling; I’ve realize that I am WAY more vain that I originally thought.

I’m a coffee drinking, book reading, laundry procrastinating, husband and children loving, mess of a woman who believes that chips and salsa can fix anything. We have chickens running around the backyard, a mountain of dishes in the sink, and on any given morning, I have at least 10 school forms that need my signature or initials. It’s a crazy life {I prefer to call it controlled chaos}, but its ours.

Hang in there, Jenn. It really isn't that noticeable. Thank goodness you're a woman - you can be creative with your hairstyle while you gain back what you lost. Are you still taking pre-natal vitamins? That may help! I'll be praying for you.

Oh my goodness! I can totally relate!! I lost so much hair after my thrid baby that I had bald spots on both sides of my head. I was so self conscious (I wrote a post about it in May). I had a horrible experience with a mom that my daughter went to school with...she pointed out my bald spots. :(

Anyway, all this to say...it does get better...it will grow back! Mine is finally starting to get out of the frizzy growth stage. I am sorry to hear that this is happening to you, but it is nice to know I am not the only one! Yeah and I realized that I was way more vain then I thought! But, hair is really important to us as woman, it's hard not to get upset about it!

Hang in there!
A sister in Christ,
Elizabeth

Oh my, I can totally relate too! After both babies I lost SO.MUCH.HAIR. I have really thick hair to start with and I think that the amounts I lost could have created another new head of hair. My second babe is a year old and I now have "new growth" that is about 2 inches long all over my head. My hair lady always cracks up when she tries to foil my hair... not sure what to do with all the new growth... glad it's funny to someone! :)

Seriously though... it will come back better than when it left!! :)

I had hair loss, too. Partly from stress and partly b/c of thyroid problems. I am on thyroid meds and omega 3 (from Garden of Life). I have heard that helps. But I lost my hair underneath and couldn't put my hair in a pony tail because my hairline was uneven under there. It finally all fell out around that bottom, about an inch high or more. Now the hair is growing back and I am glad. Hang in there!!!

I also have had a few periods of hair loss in my life. But take heart! Mine is thicker than it's been in a long, long time right now. I think it comes and goes in cycles (hormones are such nasty little sensitive things!). It isn't fun to look down at your hands after you've combed your hair and run your fingers through it and see at least 40 hairs there.

Just take care of yourself and it will come back :)

*hugs*

Oh my, we don't appreciate what we have until it starts to leave, right? I've never had this happen, but I'm with everybody else----I bet it grows back in no time :)

I bet when you wear your hair down you can't even tell!! :) The same thing happened to me when I was nursing my Hudson and we were preparing to move across the world...I thought that was how it was going to stay forever...but it's all better now!!
I hope that encourages you!
Blessings,
Joy

The same thing is happening to me! I've always worried about it to but there's nothing I can do! I guess that's why my hair is all one length now! It makes it less noticeable!

Oh Jenn, I'm so sad for you...not because it looks horrible (you still look great, even with some bare spots!), but because I know how those things feel even worse than they actually look! I'm praying that the stress levels go down! Love, Amy

I had the same thing happen to me especially after Baby #2. It finally did stop falling out! Thanks goodness. I've heard that taking Kelp can help. It's a vitamin that you can get from the Health Food Store. Good Luck!

Anyway, I think you look great. We are always more critical of ourselves than anyone else would be. :-)
