Drumroll, Please!

I'm sure you've all been anxiously waiting to hear our news, he he, and I'm very sorry that I haven't gotten here sooner but without further ado, I present to you...
Hudson Jonathan. We are having a boy!!

Now, here's the great story. When the technician was first looking for the sex, the umbilical cord was hanging between the legs and was making it very difficult to find a clear picture. The technician finally pointed to "something" on the screen and typed the word labia, indicating a girl, and then moved on to other parts of the body. For 20 minutes we were thinking that Devyn was going to have a sister and talking about the beauty in not having to buy new clothes. As the ultrasound continued, the technician suddenly gasped and said, "Uh, wait a minute." I just KNEW at that moment she had discovered something else. Sure enough, either the baby moved his hands or the umbilical cord moved and the baby was more than proud to show off the goods. This is the first, AND last time, that I'll be showing my son's parts but here comes the proof.
As you can see from the inscription the technician wrote on the bottom, she was well aware of my dad's situation; father of four girls, zero boys, and grandfather to one granddaughter. He has waited 27 years to have a boy in the family and it has finally arrived!!

As far as the rest of the ultrasound is concerned, everything looks great!! My dates match up exactly; Hudson has 10 fingers and 10 toes; is currently weighing in at 11 ounces; and looks completely healthy. Praise God!!

Now only if someone can wipe the shocked look off my face and/or give me advice on how to raise a son, it would be greatly appreciated. We're having a boy!

I’m a coffee drinking, book reading, laundry procrastinating, husband and children loving, mess of a woman who believes that chips and salsa can fix anything. We have chickens running around the backyard, a mountain of dishes in the sink, and on any given morning, I have at least 10 school forms that need my signature or initials. It’s a crazy life {I prefer to call it controlled chaos}, but its ours.

YAY!!! Boys are GREAT! (Although I'm totally biased!) My dad waited almost 27 years for a boy, too...he raised two girls and I was the first of his daughters to have a child.

Congratulations!

I would give you advice on raising a boy, but I don't know what it's like raising a girl, so I don't really know the difference. And Caleb's only one, so I'm no pro at the boy thing yet!

And, your blog looks great!

OK I have had 2 boys and many, many, ultrasounds, and none of them quite showed the male genitalia in it's perfect form as did your pictures! Well done!!!! Boys are great! Girls are easier in the beginning, but then watch out!! Boys are much harder in the early years, but then later, well the hormone thing is just not like it is with the girls. So enjoy!!! They are all challenging but wonderful!

Call me if you need to cry... or
scream.
Love, Julie

This is great news...

How awesome! Congrats, congrats, congrats! And I'm sure Jon is excited about more testosterone in the family - my hubby is wondering if he'll need to buy a male dog just to have the numbers more even! haha

Oh HUGE congratulations! My dad was the first person I told when I was pregnant with my son. He had three daughters and one granddaughter!

My son is now nearly 8, and he is my dad's best friend. In fact, having my son was probably the best thing I've ever done for my dad! LOL He never misses a soccer game and gets all choked up just watching him.

It's a pleasure to watch.

Congrats!

Sherry

Oh no, what are we going to do? We don't know ANYTHING about boys! It will be interesting to see how Devyn interacts with Hudson. I can't wait to see what he looks like. I hope my little nephew looks at least a little like you Jenn considering Devyn is the spitting image of Jon. It's only fair right?

Oh, I'm so very happy for you and your family! I love the name you've chosen for your son.

Anytime you want to talk raising little boys, you just let me know. Although their clothes aren't nearly as cute as little girls, little boys are so amazing! I love being the mommy of a darling little boy and you will too!

I can't wait to hear more!

Congratulations!!!!
Don't worry Jen, if the Glover boys can learn to handle a girl. I am sure the Sanchez girls will be quick learners as well. I'm so happy for you and Jon. You both will be great parents to Devyn & Hudson.
